Analysis:

This is not the best burrito in town - although it may be one of the biggest—yet I still love eating at Papalote. What keeps me coming back? The delicious homemade salsa picante beats any other in the city hands down. It may even be the best salsa I've ever had.

The Papalote conundrum is this: the ingredients are noticeably fresh and high quality, yet the burrito is on the bland side. This primarily seems to be caused by the overabundance of often slightly dry rice. Of course the delicious salsa more than makes up for this. Request half rice, or even none, to alleviate this problem.

The menu here is fairly extensive, with great veggie choices like soyrizo and sauteed mushrooms (which I highly recommend); and the breakfast options are perfect for those mornings when cereal just won't do the trick. This is also a perfect burrito date spot - your food is brought to your table and you can appear civilized as you eat with silverware off your beautifully presented plate. Don't forget to pick up your frequent burrito card. —Alisa Nack, Burritobot correspondent

"The fine folks at Papalote tease you with a tiny stainless steel cup of their delicious salsa. Maybe if you ask real nice, they'll pour some on your burrito!

"Best Ameri-Burrito in Town?" Score: 8.2
"The salsa is distinct. The ingredients are top notch. But do you find the end result just slightly . . . sterile? That plus their early close time keeps this clean, cool, joint from being from 'do no wrong' status. Still, highly recommended and probably my #1 'safe + flavor' combo in the city. (The go-to for taking parents, out of town hick cousins, etc.)"—Sr Mariasnoggles
