"So Fresh So Clean"
"El Metate, a low key family-run neighborhood joint, has
become a regular stop for me. They have possibly the freshest tasting
ingredients I have found at a tacqueria. Small details, like carrots in the
rice, potatoes in the chile colorado, and the fine pollo con chile
rojo, make it stand out. Order a shrimp burrito and they saute the shrimp
on a griddle to order. The only minus here is that they steam the
tortillas instead of searing them like castillito or cancun would. And the
garnish is pretty basic -- but you won't need it with all the flavor
pouring out of these burritos."
