Analysis:

This burrito is the pinto bean and cheese with guacamole (how is it so good?) and jalepenos. I've eaten this burrito, and only this burrito, three times a week for four years and have yet to get sick of it.

A few comments....there is special love in the beans and rice, which I can neither identify nor resist. the salsa is always fresh, firm, and tasty, and the fellas have a way with guac...mucho creamy. The hot sauce is tangy and only lost one point due its capacity to be hotter. I usually eschew the chips but on the occasions I've had them, they are standard, sometimes room temp, average fare. Ratio and presentation are both subjective and directly related to which master of the fold you are dealing with. I can't say that I have never had an unbalanced or poorly wrapped burrito at Gordo, but those few lapses (they gotta train the new guys sometime) are few, far between and more than made up for by the hundreds of perfect burritos I've enjoyed at Gordo. -Meredith Allan Chupack, Burritobot Correspondent

"Fast, cheap, and out of control"
"The best thing that the Gordo 'rito has goin for it is its simplicity. Simple, yet flavorful, and the menu doesnt try to intimidate into some complex dinner decisions with an extensive menu. Nossir, they only do a few things but they do them well. Dock a point or two for not including chips & salsa with your order, but otherwise, a true favorite. Definite repeat-customer potential."

"24th & Clement"
"Yo...just wanted to clarify that this rating is based solely on experience at the 24th and Clement Gordo's location. I have been eating at this fine establishment consistently for over twenty years. The other locations are good also, don't get me wrong. I am just loyal to this location and they haven't let me down. "

"I hate to be sour grapes, but ..."
"... I'm going to have to disagree. I've been to a number of Gordo locations (Clement, Sunset, and Geary) and they have all have had the worst burritos I've ever had. By worst, I mean "tasteless." Nasty is one crime, but a flavorless, lifeless burrito in a self-destructing tortilla? What could be worse? I hate to be harsh, but I've eaten thousands of burritos at dozens of locations and Gordo's burritos, I'm ashamed to say, (almost) make me want to go to Taco Bell. On the bright side, at least they're consistent!"

"nooburrito"
"I can't knock this burrito - it's certainly edible and fairly tasty. But once you find the central Mission places, forget it. It's like eating at Panda Express and then discovering China."

"I LOVE GORDOS"
"Gordos burritos are pretty much my favorite thing in the world. I go to school on the east coast, so I dedicate at least 10% of my day to daydreaming about Gordos grilled chicken burritos. Can someone fedex me one?"
