Sitting pretty among the various smokeshops, junkpeddlers, and overpriced boutiques, El Balazo seems very at home on Upper Haight. While the colorful interior and double-decker seating area will entice the burrito-lover inside, the burrito is humdrum and ultimately soulless. Where's the happy assembler, creating your burrito with a flick of the wrist? Where's savory beefsmoke wafting from the grill? Where's the blaring Mexican jukebox? Go back down Haight and to the right a ways to the Mission, if you ask me.
